Willis-Knighton Health System -                  Pierre Avenue Wellness Center
Location:
Shreveport, Louisana
Square Footage:
10,000
Special Features:
The WK Community Health and Education Center provides family health and wellness services for a previously under served area of Shreveport. The center is located in a renovated structure that was previously a small industrial warehouse, and much of the building’s aesthetic is drawn from that industrial influence. The large open spaces of a warehouse were ideal for creating the open exercise areas of this project, with clerestory windows providing natural illumination. The brick on the interior walls and the exposed mechanical systems convey the building’s industrial past, while the clean, finished areas of the center indicate the building’s future as a community center.
